Elaine Deppe is a retired, Master’s prepared Registered Nurse with a BS in Nursing from Duke University School of Nursing and a Masters in Science from Texas Womens University.

Living in Transylvania County for over two decades, volunteering for not-for-profit organizations that provide health care or information and education about health has been her major focus. Former “jobs” with the Transylvania County Volunteers in Medicine Clinic, and the Transylvania County Board of Health were part of that focus. Elaine has been a counselor or Coordinator for the Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) in the County for the past 15 years and was selected as the Coordinator of the Year for the State of North Carolina in 2017.

In her spare time, Elaine sings alto in several groups, tries to exercise frequently, dabbles in the stock market and travels with her significant-other whenever possible.
