Amanda Frick Keiser
Director of Programs
Amanda Frick Keiser spent her early years in the mountains of Henderson County, NC and in the rural farmlands of central Missouri. After completing her undergraduate political science degree at NC State and serving in the Peace Corps in Peru, she began a financial empowerment career at a small nonprofit in Brooklyn, NY and completed her Master of Public Administration degree at New York University. Continuing her career in Nashville, TN, she led financial empowerment and homeownership services for Habitat for Humanity and Rebuilding Together.
After nearly 15 years of professional nonprofit work, she signed up for COVID’s “Great Resignation” in 2020 and landed back Western NC supporting nonprofit and financial empowerment services across the region as an entrepreneur. Clients included Olive Hill CEDC and The Industrial Commons in Morganton, and the Women for Women philanthropic giving circle in Asheville.
At OnTrack, Amanda continues her life’s work of pushing back against the cultural focus on individual shortcomings to explain financial inequities. She challenges us to acknowledge and address the role of luck, access, privilege and opportunity as we work toward the financial empowerment of all our neighbors in Western NC. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys yardwork, kayaking, hiking, and spending time with friends, her husband, and her two cats.
