Thanks Wells Fargo: Volunteer Day Tackled Our Shredding
SEVEN Wells Fargo volunteers spent a February afternoon helping us scan and shred confidential documents. After filling our shred bin to overflowing, we pulled out two shredders so they could keep up the work!
In just four hours, these dedicated people scanned and shredded almost 400 files! In addition to volunteer energy, Wells Fargo provided us with a $10,000 grant to support our services. THANK YOU, Wells Fargo!
Free Tax Prep – Building Awareness
On rainy Sunday March 12th OnTrack WNC, Pisgah Legal Services, Representative Caleb Rudow (NC General Assembly District 114) and a group of incredible volunteers gathered for VITA outreach. Because tax returns are the gateway to many resources, like Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, and Affordable Health Care subsidies, the goal of the initiative was to get the word out -- especially for people who may not have filed the taxes! FREE tax preparation services are available through OnTrack WNC and Pisgah Legal Services. Thanks to Dogwood Health Trust, Buncombe County, and Reinvestment Partners for funding and support for this important work!
AARP and OnTrack WNC: Daily Ways To Save
We teamed up with Gretchen Batra and AARP for a TWO PART webinar on Savings. Similar to termites, little expenditures can eat away at your financial foundation. Everything from shared phone plans to discount dining can cut expenses. The webinars include ways to save. Celeste Collins, from OnTrack Financial Education & Counseling will join Gretchen Batra, AARP NC volunteer, to reveal tips for saving.

Pete Wrublewski, Grants & Development Director
We are thrilled to introduce – or reintroduce – our NEW Grants & Development Director, Pete Wrublewski! Pete joined our team in 2016 as the Free Tax Preparation (VITA) Coordinator and financial education and counselor. His six years have included teaching, counseling, program coordination – most recently for the SECURE matched savings programs. Pete’s multifaceted experience with OnTrack WNC is the perfect match for his new role in managing grants and development. Congratulations Pete!
