Freelance Design and Content Creator

OnTrack WNC is seeking a freelance creator with skills in content creation and graphic design for monthly tasks related to agency branding, event marketing, and general external communications.

 

What is the position?

This is a contracted position with an anticipated 2-5 hours of multimedia work per week, as assigned. Reporting to the Grants and Development Manager at OnTrack WNC, with input from the Executive Director, you will be assigned specific tasks that require:

 

Content Creation and Digital Management

While some completed content will come to you, there may be times when you are asked to create social media posts, short narratives, website content, or language for brochures and fliers. Writing and editing skills are desired, with an eye toward OnTrack WNC’s varied audiences. The breadth of assigned work could include:

  • Content creation in the form of short written narratives, hashtags and taglines, reports, how-to guides, and infographics.
  • Developing social media content.
  • Brainstorming content ideas regarding fundraising campaigns, events, and promotional communications.
  • Proofreading and editing.
  • Web design in Firespring, including updates, adding alt text to images, creating new webpages, modifying site structure, redesign, etc.
  • Reviewing old website and flyer content to update information and improve readability.
  • Designing and scheduling newsletter and email campaigns in Firespring/Emma.
  • Maintaining an organized images library.

 

Graphic Design

Create effective and eye-catching images and campaigns to increase our messaging impact including leveraging current graphic assets and developing new graphics for both print and digital platforms. The breadth of assigned work could include:

  • Ability to design for multiple audiences and marketing campaigns.
  • Designing both promotional and educational materials such as brochures, mailers, slide decks, event materials, guides, and infographics.
  • Oversee digital and print projects from conception to delivery.
  • Source images for print collateral, website, and social media use, and help maintain the organization’s photo, graphic, and video resources.
  • Implement feedback and changes when appropriate.

 

Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • Portfolio of design-work
  • Proficiency in Canva
  • Exceptional creativity and innovation
  • Experience with both print and electronic media
  • Attention to detail
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Highly communicative and responsive to email in a timely manner

 

Compensation

If selected, the contracted designer can anticipate between 2-5 hours of work assigned per week. OnTrack WNC will pay $25.00 per hour for services rendered. While there is no long-term contractual obligation, we hope to create an ongoing and trusting relationship with a creative partner that both parties find mutually beneficial and reliable.
